About Us

Cetra Technology was started in 2008 as a company with a mission to provide reliable and affordable backup services for small and medium sized companies in Hawaii. It didn't take long before Cetra management realized it was time to take the business a step further by initiating Network Management Services, partnering with Microsoft to provide hosting or SAAS (software as a service) and then VoIP services.  In 2010, Cetra took a major step in its service offerings when it  became a partner with Clearwell Systems and obtained the expertise required to conduct forensically sound collections using Guidance software from EnCase; a solid combination. Cetra Technology's goal is to provide its customers with quality technology that truly provides a benefit for companies through a combination of highly skilled engineers in-house and alignment with the strongest strategic partners offering the best products and  support for customers.

Cetra Technology's security and forensic group is composed of a core group of engineers and technical specialists.  Our three senior engineers have received forensic training specifically for the proper collection of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) as described by the United States Department of Justice and  have a combined work experience in IT exceeding 75 years. Their experience includes significant development work in security, data recovery and document imaging and discovery for law firm and banking institutions. Their accomplishments include: writing and maintaining the fraud detection software used by a major bank; electronic collection and assignment of jurors for both the State of Hawaii and the Federal Court (First Circuit); development of one of the first document imaging and processing systems to be used for attorneys in the state of Hawaii; and development and implementation of a network management and intrusion detection platform.

Most recently, Cetra has been retained to perform forensic collections for several well respected law firms including the second largest law firm in the United States. They have also performed several security audits and investigations searching through deleted, hidden, re-formatted, or damaged data stores extracting files proving activity (or in some cases non-involvement) that was not known or unproven. These cases include HR issues (such as pornography or theft of company information), production of responsive documents culled out of millions of non-relevant documents, recovery of email, and absolute preservation of data for possible later use.

Cetra uses state of the art software and equipment such as write blockers and best practices to prevent contamination due to the investigation itself. In addition to Cetra's technical expertise, Cetra's e-discovery manager is an attorney who is a certified Clearwell Administrator. The combination of this expertise, places Cetra at the front of all organizations attempting to collect or manage ESI. The loss of the integrity of your data can ruin the value of the data. Cetra's expertise guarantees your data will be collected and processed correctly.
